Named for its long, shoestring-like phyllodes, the Shoestring Acacia is towering, strongly vertical tree suitable for tight spaces. The branches are pendulous, open and airy, providing light, filtered shade. It thrives in intense heat and drought and is tolerant of most soil types and even among impervious surfaces. Showy, cream-colored flowers adorn branches from late winter to early spring. Deep watering established trees every two weeks will ensure plant health. Pruning and training young trees is necessary to ensure structrual strength and to raise the crown. Shoestring Acacia can be messy and is known to reseed, so avoid planting near pools and watch for seedlings!
