Named for its long life, the Century Plant is large marvel to accent any garden. Reaching heights of up to 4 feet and 7 feet in width, this goliath starts out small, so make sure to plant it in an area with ample room to grow. This variant of the Century Plant sports green leaves striped with yellow edges. Leaves are toothed and tipped with sharp barbs, so it's best to plant away from walkways. No water is required after establishment. No pruning is necessary. After several decades (not quite a century, and highly variable), the plant sends out a massive flower stalk, reaching heights of up to 30 feet, topped with yellow blossoms. The flower stalk is a beautiful sight, the agave's last show as they are monocarpic, meaning they will die upon flowering. Not to worry, though, as the Century Plant sends out many basal offshoots to replace itself.
