This unique agave is native to the oak woodlands of Nayarit, Mexico. It sports long, narrow, flexible leaves that number in the 100s, radiating out in a rosette from the base. Reaching up to 3 feet wide, and 4 feet tall, the Twin-flowered Agave is a medium sized agave. At the end of its life, it sends out its namesake, a twinflowered stalk that reaches 8 to 10 feet high. After flowering and dying, this agave has been known to set off several suckers from old foliage. Once established, this agave requires no supplemental water and does not require pruning.
