The vivid, lemon-yellow, daisy-like flowers of desert marigold are commonplace in the deserts of Arizona, California, Texas and northern Mexico almost year-round. This herbaceous perennial sports grayish-white foliage that is soft to the touch and can produce as many as 20 to 50 flowers a year. It's tough and requires no irrigation once established. Reaches 6-10" high and wide at maturity. Requires little to no maintenance-- only deadheading if spent flowers become unslightly. Susceptible to root rot in poorly-drained soils. Looks great in mass plantings to add drought tolerant color to landscapes.
