Hopbush is native to many arid regions of the world, showing adaptability that is echoed by this plant's usefulness in a wide range of landscape situations. Valued for its dense, deep green foliage, and coarse tropical texture, this evergreen shrub needs little to no pruning to maintain its form. Native to the Sonoran Desert, hopbush is a popular, safe substitute for oleanders used as a hedge or privacy screen. This Emerald Ice variety was discovered after surviving a 5°F freeze with minimal damage, while other seed-grown specimens were decimated. We are proud to introduce Emerald Ice as the one of our favorite Civano Originals and the first hopbush clone on the market. Unlicensed propagation prohibited.
