Goodding’s Verbena is an Arizona native often found growing in desert washes after periodic flooding. In early spring and again in fall, fragrant, lilac-purple flowers appear above fuzzy, gray-green foliage. Its early bloom season makes this showy perennial highly attractive to pollinators when few things are blooming. Goodding’s Verbena loves heat, goes dormant in winter, and does great in planters or the ground, given adequate drainage.
