Bougainvillea 'Torch Glow'

Torch Glow Bougainvillea

Description

A fairly new introduction to the long list of bougainvillea varieties, Torch Glow offers the same infamous drought and heat tolerance, without the need of a trellis for support. Multiple stems grow upright from the base of the plant, and leaves cling closely to the branches, giving this shrub an interesting, twisting appearance. With deep pink color at the ends of the branches and such a unique silhouette, Torch Glow makes a fine accent or specimen shrub. They can also be staked and pruned into a small tree. Hummingbirds will buzz around bougainvillea in spring to pollinate the tiny white flowers that are nestled inside deep pink bracts.
