This agave grows in the wild throughout the Southwestern US at high elevations, particularly in southern Arizona and northern Mexico. Long, blue-gray, serrated leaves are the trademark of Palmer's Agave, though there is known to be a lot of variation in the shape, as it readily hybridizes with nearby agave species. In the wild, Palmer's Agave tends to be solitary, though in cultivation it sometimes, though rarely, sends basal offshoots out as pups. No supplemental water is necessary once the plant is established. Plant this armed beauty away from walkways!
