With both a dwarf habit and a long bloom period, this plant is a great addition to the landscape. It can easily be fitted into rock gardens, in mixed beds or even in containers. The cushion-like blossoms are a beautiful lavender-blue color and are apt to start blooming in the spring and stop only when it gets extremely cold. The blossoms are a butterfly magnet, so be sure to plant them where they can really be enjoyed. Pincushion Flower will tolerate some shade and is not fussy about soil conditions.
