The Gold Star Tecoma is a favorite for those seeking a splash of tropical splendor in their garden. This broadleaf evergreen features striking and prolific clusters of bright yellow, tubular flowers from late spring through fall. This densely branching shrub can reach heights of up to 7 feet and 6 feet wide in the Tucson area, though it takes well to pruning to keep it under control. Works well in containers, easy to grow, and lovely to behold, the Gold Star Tecoma prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Deadhead flowers to prolong blooming.
